The Studentenwerk Leipzig welcomes all new arrivals as well as returning students for the summer semester 2024! We offer many advisory and support services related to studying and living in Leipzig.

We operate eight Mensas and seven Cafeterias at various university locations throughout Leipzig. With the start of the summer semester, our Mensas and Cafeterias will reopen at their regular times..
Important Note: Disposable cups will finally disappear from our Cafeterias with the start of the summer semester 2024. However, you have the option to enjoy your drinks (and food) on-site or take them with you in free, environmentally friendly reusable containers.
Payment is only possible with a valid student or staff ID card or the Mensa card. TIP: It’s best to sign up for AutoLoad! Cash payment is not possible.

You can arrange personal office hours on-site by appointment (information on making an appointment is available at check-in).
TIP: Our newly refurbished rooms in Mannheimer Straße are ready to move in immediately! Apply now for one of the newly renovated rooms. There are also still rooms available in our other halls of residence in the summer semester. It’s best to get an overview and apply as soon as you have received your admission letter.

Social Counselling offers telephone office hours without an appointment (Tuesdays 9:00-11:00 a.m. at +49 1761 9659 674), individual counseling by appointment, and open office hours without appointment (Thursdays 2-4 p.m. in the Student Family Center).
In addition, social counseling offers numerous information events.
Psychosocial Counselling offers counselling sessions and short consultations by appointment. You can also use the open telephone office hours. For the summer semester, there are both online and in-person workshops.
You can take advantage of the free Legal Assistance by phone or in person on Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Legal Advice is only available by phone. You can find all the information on the Legal Assistance page.
International students can find information about our various offers on our pages. Our Tutors will once again offer various events in the summer semester to get to know other students as well as Leipzig and its surroundings. An information event for prospective students who are refugees will take place on May 3, 2024.
We support student culture! Financial resources are allocated on request. Please first inform yourself on our Cultural Funding pages.
The Student Job Office offers appointments for activating profiles by appointment. The job placement process takes place online.
For students, there are three do-it-yourself repair shops and a bicycle repair station funded by the Mobility Fund. There you can repair your bikes free of charge.
On May 3, 2024, the Student Services Leipzig, in cooperation with the HTWK Leipzig and the University of Leipzig, will host an information day for international and refugee prospective students.
