Partnership with Strasbourg

Studentenwerk Leipzig maintains a partnership with Crous Strasbourg in France. Regular exchange meetings between students and employees take place in Leipzig or Strasbourg, at which Crous Strasbourg and Studentenwerk Leipzig inform each other about the latest developments.

One meeting took place in Leipzig in August 2014 to mark the 20th anniversary of the partnership. The return visit took place in Strasbourg in December 2018. Also in 2018, seven Leipzig students took part in a Franco-German theatre workshop organised by Crous Strasbourg. In June 2019 the next theatre workshop took place at which seven Leipzig students took part.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the partnership, Strasbourg chefs prepared dishes from their home country in student restaurant Mensa am Elsterbecken in May 2019. This chef exchange was supported by Deutsch-französisches Jugendwerk (DJFW).

Another delegation from Strasbourg visited Studentenwerk Leipzig In December 2019. 

The special focus of this meeting was placed on sustainability. The Studentenwerk showed its French guests some practical examples of resource-efficient practices in Leipzig’s Mensas and student halls of residences. To conclude the stay of the Strasbourg Crous delegation, our guests enjoyed a small touristic program with a guided tour through the city center and a visit to the Christmas market.
