Our social mission
Studentenwerk Leipzig is responsible for the social, economic, medical and cultural services and support for the students in Leipzig. Besides inexpensive meals in our Mensas, accommodation close to the university and advice and financial support in accordance with the Federal Training Assistance Act (Bundesausbildungsförderungsgesetz), we offer free counselling services for a range of challenges to enable our students to master their studies as well as possible even in difficult situations. These counselling services include legal and social counselling as well as psychosocial counselling provided by the Studentenwerk Leipzig. Further, there are childcare services, that support our student parents in successfully managing their studies and family life. We also offer cultural funding for cultural projects conducted by students and take care of the student job office.
As a social service provider, we currently provide services for around 39,000 students at eight universities in Leipzig.

Due to the special circumstances caused by Covid-19, there are certain requirements and changes for us and all students. We have taken the necessary protective measures in all areas and will continue to be available to you. Our facilities are open and our counselling services are accessible.
