BAföG & Financing

The Amt für Ausbildungsförderung (Education Assistance Office, in short BAföG office) advises students of the universities and academies in Leipzig with regard to financial assistance according to the German Federal Training Assistance Act (BAföG).

Department for Grants

Young people should be enabled to choose the education or training that matches their abilities and likings. BAföG is granted whenever parents cannot afford their children’s education and the education or training is eligible for funding. The BAföG office will advise you – filing your application may pay off!

The information about BAföG provided on these pages hopefully give a brief overview, but cannot be a substitute for talking to a BAföG counselor in person at the BAföG office.

If you want to supplement your student income with student part-time jobs, you will find a variety of student side jobs at our Student Job Office.
