Summer semester 2020: Validity of the MDV semester ticket

Under certain conditions the MDV semester ticket is valid from 1 April without an updated imprint on the student card.

Due to the current situation and the resulting restrictions on access to the universities in Leipzig, some students cannot validate their student cards for the summer semester. For this reason, the transportation companies in the area of validity of the MDV semester ticket will change their practice during controls: if the student card has an imprint of the past semester, the ticket stays valid in combination with the confirmation of enrollment for the summer semester 2020. According to the MDV, the certificate of enrollment does not have to be printed out, but can also be shown on a mobile device. In addition, the student's official photo ID must always be presented.

This regulation applies from 1 April 2020 for the summer semester 2020, until further notice.
