This year, the best photos are chosen via online voting for the first time in the history of the competition.
Until 1 June, students could hand in their photos on the topic “Yes we change” for the Studentenwerke Photo Competition. For the first time in the history of the competition, winners are chosen through an online poll (www.fotowettbewerb-studentenwerke.de). This way, all participants have the chance to mobilise a huge support base. The pre-selection for the online voting was chosen by an independent jury in Weimar: For each category, 20 photos that stood out the most were selected for the online voting.
Between 11 and 21 June 2018 everyone who signs up can vote for their personal favorite in each category. To keep the competition fair, the individual vote is only counted if three favorites are chosen in each category. Friends and family are allowed to vote for their participant but have to choose two more shots or sets as well. Winners receive prizes in cash and equipment worth more than 4,000 EUR in total.
