Our former student hall spokesperson and current tutor for internatial students, Pavel Raus, was awarded the DAAD prize!

Pavel Raus was awarded the prize of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Born in Russia, he is currently studying European Studies in the Master's programme at Leipzig University. He was awarded not only for his outstanding academic achievements, but also in recognition of his commitment and personal support for incoming international students in Leipzig.

In addition to his studies, Pavel Raus has been socially involved in several honorary positions. For two years he was a spokesperson for one of Studentenwerk Leipzig’s student residences and made a significant contribution to student life in his hall and to the integration of international students.

Even though he does not live in our student halls anymore, he continues to engage voluntarily for our students. Since the beginning of winter semester 18/19, he has been supporting international students in their arrival and stay in Leipzig as a tutor, helping them with questions and problems concerning their studies, their stay in Germany or private challenges.

The support of international students is an essential task for Studentenwerk Leipzig. Since we cannot perform this task without the help of students like Pavel Raus, we nominated him for the DAAD prize. The prize is well deserved and Studentenwerk Leipzig congratulates him sincerely!
