Our counsellors are available for your questions and problems concerning BAföG – from the application to the legal requirements to the repayment modalities. Your personal counselors are happy to provide information and advice and to help you with funding your studies.

  • BAföG Digital

    To apply, upload your documents, notify us of changes (e.g. address or IBAN) if you have already submitted your application online or would like to submit it online at bafoeg-digital.de (German):

  • Postal route and letterbox

    Applications can be made and documents submitted by post. Changes of address or bank details, for example, can also be communicated. It is also possible to drop them in our letterbox.

Who are we responsible for?

The Department for Grants in Leipzig is responsible for students of the following Leipzig institutes:

  • Leipzig University (indluding Studiencolleg)
  • Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (HTWK)
  • University of Music and Theatre „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ Leipzig (HMT)
  • Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig (HGB)
  • HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management
  • Lancaster University Leipzig

The different locations of the iba are not independent and are bound to the supervision of The Hessen State Ministry of Higher Education, Research and the Arts (HMWK). Students of this university are not able to receive support through BAföG.

The Dualen Hochschulen Sachsen (DHSN) are under the responsibility of the Studentenwerk Chemnitz-Zwickau.
