Promote your student cultural project with us
Want to drum up some publicity for your student project? The Studentenwerk Leipzig can help you do just that – right where lots of students hang out: in the Cafeterias, Mensas and Halls of Residence. Here is an overview of the options available.
1. Posters in Halls of Residence, Cafeterias and Mensas
The Studentenwerk regularly distributes posters in all Cafeterias, Mensas and Halls of Residence – ideal for reaching a large number of students.
Who can participate?
- The offer is primarily aimed at projects that are supported by the Studentenwerk Leipzig’s Cultural Funding. If this applies to you, simply contact the Communications Department to arrange an appointment to collect the posters.
- But even if you do not receive financial support, you can still participate under certain conditions:
- Your event should be clearly intended for students (not for the general public) and
- have a cultural connection.
Don’t forget: The Cultural Funding logo must ALWAYS be included on the poster!
What do you need to do to use the poster distributor?
The posters are distributed every two weeks – on the first and last Tuesday of each month – by the Studentenwerk to all Mensas, Cafeterias and Halls of Residence. If you would like to be included in the distribution list, the posters should ideally be with us by the Monday before the upcoming distribution round (= on the first and third Tuesday).

This is possible:
- For all Mensas & Cafeterias: 10 posters
- For all Halls of Residence: 35 posters
- Can also be used separately (e.g. only Halls of Residence)
Maximum poster size: A2
Please bring the posters to the Studentenwerk in the appropriate quantity at the agreed handover time.
Important:
Independent poster campaigns in our facilities and/or independent distribution of flyers on Mensa tables are not permitted. Anything that is not done through the Studentenwerk will be removed.
2. Advertising on the Mensa-screens
The screens in the Mensas and Cafeterias are also primarily available to students who have received Cultural Funding for their projects from the Studentenwerk.
- Here too, priority is given to projects that have received Cultural Funding.
- However, other student groups can also enquire about placing their advertisements on our monitors. The prerequisite is that the event is primarily aimed at students and has cultural content. We then decide based on available capacity.

Technical requirements for monitor films:
- Format: Landscape format
- File type: JPG
- Size: 1280 x 720 pixels (16:9), 72 ppi
- Only a still image, no video
- Little text – only the most important information!
- The Cultural Funding logo must be included
Advertising in the Event Calendar
There is an Event Calendar on the Studentenwerk website that students can use to advertise their events that are aimed at all Leipzig students!
If you want your student event to be listed there, simply send an email to: kultur@studentenwerk-leipzig.de with the following information:
- Event (title)
- Date & time
- Venue (location & address)
- Brief description of the event (what is happening, for whom etc.)
- Admission prices
- Where can I get tickets?
- Link website / social media etc.
- and also a picture/graphic/advertisement
