All international students, who begin their bachelor studies or state exam in the winter semester 2017/18, can take part in the research project “SpraStu – Sprache und Studienerfolg bei Bildungsausländer/-innen” and win prizes!

International students with access to higher education often face more problems than their German peers. Up to now, possible causes have not been sufficiently researched. However, so far these problems are associated with a lack of language skills. The research project “Sprache und Studienerfolg” (Language and Academic Achievement) investigates challenges international students face when studying a subject in German. The project is supervised by Dr. Katrin Wisniewski, Herder-Institute (German as a Foreign Language), and is running until October 2020.

International students who begin their studies in the winter semester 2017/18 at Leipzig University can take part in the project and win prizes. All participants have a chance to win an iPad Pro, concert tickets and books on studying. For successfully participating in all three dates in Ocotober, everyone will receive 50 EUR for filling out surveys and solving language quizzes.
