The opening date for student restaurant “Mensa am Medizincampus” is official!

After three and a half years with the interim Mensaria, the time has come: the new student restaurant on the University’s medical campus opens its doors on 20 May 2019.

The date is official: On 20 May 2019, the new student restaurant “Mensa am Medizincampus” opens. From 12.00 noon, students, university employees and guests have access to the new student restaurant for the first time to try out the wide range of offers. On the opening day, there will also be free smoothies for our customers* as well as other small surprises*.

The new student restaurant and incorporated cafeteria will then undertake the supply of about 7,000 students and university employees of Leipzig University’s Faculty of Medicine and additional faculties in the surrounding area. On garden level of House D in Liebigstraße 23/25, two dining halls and an outdoor area provide space for approx. 500 guests.

Modern kitchen equipment will help serve about 1,400 meals daily. They are offered in the free flow system (applies in Mensa am Park as well) which allows individual meal combinations. “Quick plate” dishes, vegetarian and vegan meals, a pasta bar with various sauces, wok and grilled food as well as a salad bar. At your own vitamin bar you will find homemade smoothies, vegetable drinks and fresh fruits.
Additionally, the cafeteria offers cold and warm snacks, fair trade tea and coffee, cold drinks, pastries and various sweets from fair trade.
