New Photo Exhibition shows “rays of hope”

In the current photo exhibition in the Studentenwerk, the three student friends Lorena Link, Magnus and Sophie Caroline Altermann present their work together. Rügen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Berlin, Dippoldiswalde, Wenns (Austria), Copenhagen (Denmark), Himarë (Albania), Gothenburg (Sweden) and Dasio (Italy) have provided them with some “rays of hope”.

Her analog photographs appeal not only to external but also to internal experiences. Light-flooded, rippling and sun-drenched places make our spring fever and summer yearnings grow. Perhaps viewers of the warm insights and views will sense that shady sides can be beautiful, that there is vanilla ice cream for dessert or that the days are getting longer again.

All three students are enrolled at Leipzig University: Lorena Link and Sophie Caroline Altermann are studying for a Master’s degree in Giftedness Research and Competence Development, while Magnus Menzer is studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.

The photos can be seen in the corridors on the 1st and 2nd floors of the Studentenwerk at Goethestraße 6 until the end of May.

You want to organise an own photo exhibition?

Students who would like to display their photographs in an exhibition are welcome to apply to the Studentenwerk Leipzig. The theme of the exhibition can be freely selected by the student. 24 frames sized 59.4 x 84 cm each can be shown in the exhibition spaces in the hallways of the 1st and 2nd floor at Goethestraße 6. The exhibitions are usually shown for two months.

The exhibitions are financed by Studentenwerk Leipzig’s Cultural Funding.

The student photographers must be enrolled in one of the eight Leipzig Universities/Academies, which are associated with the Studentenwerk Leipzig, for the whole course of the exhibition.
