On 3 September 2020, the new Mensaria am Botanischen Garten opens its doors. The former Cafeteria Philipp-Rosenthal-Straße has been completely renovated. The result is a bright, green oasis with a wide selection of wholesome and healthy foods.
On the opening day between 11.30 a.m. and 2.00 p.m., students, university staff and guests are warmly invited to visit the new Mensaria for the very first time.
The former Cafeteria Philipp-Rosenthal-Straße was extensively renovated between July 2019 and August 2020. The result is a bright, green oasis with the pleasant ambience of an orangery. The comfortable seating area on the first floor invites you to linger – for example, over a cup of coffee or tea and a piece of cake available at the new coffee counter.
Thanks to the modern kitchen technology that has been installed, it is now possible to cook freshly on site. This way the range of dishes on offer has been greatly extended and the facility has been given a new name: Mensaria am Botanischer Garten.
The modernization was financed entirely with funds from the Free State of Saxony and realized by Studentenwerk Leipzig.
