Arrête ton cinéma! // Do not act up!

The topic of this year's theatre workshop for and with students from Strasbourg and Leipzig is the relationship between film and theatre. These two art forms are not competing, but rather keep inspiring each other. The earliest silent films featured the characteristic acting style of the theatre, and nowadays, in turn, cinematographic aesthetics shape the theatre stage. And besides, just how many Hollywood scripts are adaptations of theatre plays ?! In the workshop, the relationship between cinema and theatre will be reversed: The participants bring dialogues and film scenes onto the theatre stage.
We all have a favourite film. A movie that has inspired us, a film that has changed our lives, that makes us dream, that makes us laugh like never before. What happens when we perform this on stage?
Crous Strasbourg offers the opportunity to be a director and actor or actress at the same time. The workshop will be led by the well-known Alsatian stage director Catherine Umdenstock and the results will be presented in a public showcase.

Further information on the project, on participating and the stage director can be found on the website of Crous Strasbourg. If you should have any further questions please get in touch with the contact person in France at: atelierdetheatre {{ätt}} crous-strasbourg {{punkt}} fr
