Feathered encounters: New photo exhibition focusses on birds

Birds take centre stage in our new photo exhibition! The photographs by Robin Lübbers show the feathered animals in very different environments: by the sea, in Icelandic landscapes or in Leipzig parks.

Robin Lübbers has been studying museology at HTWK Leipzig since 2024. However, Robin started taking photographs around eight years ago. While searching for a suitable exhibition theme, one constant stood out: Time and again, Robin came across birds – sometimes by chance, sometimes purposefully tracked down. With patience and often cautious stalking, sensitive and at the same time lively photographs were created.

According to Lübbers, the exhibition is intended to offer the animals, which are otherwise scared away by humans, a place where they can stay.

The photos are now on display in the corridors of Studentenwerk Leipzig (Goethestraße 6) – until the end of August 2025.

Fancy your own photo exhibition?

Students who would like to present their photographs in an exhibition can apply to Studentenwerk Leipzig. The theme can be freely chosen. 24 frames of 59.4 x 84 cm can be used. The exhibition spaces are located in the corridors on the first and second floors of Goethestraße 6, and the photographs are usually shown for two months.

The exhibitions are financed by Cultural Funding from the Studentenwerk.

It is important that the student photographers are enrolled at a university in the Studentenwerk Leipzig’s area of responsibility during the exhibition period.
