A Big Band Evening: The student brass and jazz orchestra Blaswerk Leipzig is organising its popular Big Band Night at UT Connewitz on 25 January.
Our cultural spotlight of the month of January is the 25th Big Band Night of Blaswerk Leipzig. Blaswerk — that is a student brass and jazz orchestra in which anyone who can play a brass instrument can join in. The diverse repertoire of typical Big Band titles, well-known film music, jazz and swing, South American rhythms, funk and pop, makes Blaswerk an established part of student cultural life. Each year's early highlight is the Big Band Night in January. Special about this event is that the Blaswerk welcomes a different guest orchestra on stage every year. This year's guest is the Big Band Neue Musik.
In Cultural Spotlight we present a special project that is supported by our Cultural Funding. The financial means for student culture are granted upon application.
