Are you currently receiving BAföG and would like to continue receiving funding from autumn 2025? Then it’s best to submit your application for continued funding now – even if the new funding period doesn’t start until September/October.
Why apply early?
The Department for Grants receives a particularly large number of applications from July onwards. This main application phase extends into October and regularly leads to a high workload – and therefore longer processing times. Those who submit their application early have a better chance of speedy processing and continuous payment of BAföG.
