As of WS 2016/17, the MDV Student Transit Pass is for Everyone

One ticket model for all! As of winter semester 2016/17, the MDV student transit pass applies to all nine universities, for which we are responsible.

As of the coming winter semester, there will be only one six-month student transit pass in Leipzig! All universities and academies, for which Studentenwerk Leipzig is responsible, have opted for the “MDV-Vollticket”. This MDV ticket is fully shared, meaning that each student has to pay 117.00 Euro together with the semester contribution. In exchange, students may use all buses, trams, and trains of the Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund around the clock. The valid student pass bearing the MDV imprint counts as the ticket. The MDV zone comprises an area of 120 kilometers East to West and 80 kilometers North to South, including the entire region around Leipzig and Halle. In addition to the public city transport in Leipzig and Halle, seven suburban railway lines (S-Bahn), various regional and regional express railway lines as well as approximately 500 bus lines are available.
