Because the costs at our DIY bike repair shops have sharply risen, the mobility fund will be reintroduced a year earlier than planned and raised by 50 cents.

The Mobility Fund at the amount of 2 euros will be reintroduced in the summer semester 2023 for all students of the seven Leipzig universities who are liable to pay semester fees.

The originally planned suspension of the Mobility Fund until 2024 will thus be withdrawn because of the higher costs at our DIY bike repair shops in the course of re-tendering. Re-tendering is required by law on a rotational basis and is now leading to an unplanned, significant rise in costs. To finance this cost increase, the Mobility Fund, which was suspended during the pandemic, will be reintroduced earlier than planned and raised by additional 50 cents.

That was decided by the administrative board of Studentenwerk Leipzig, half of which consists of student representatives from Leipzig's universities. The basis for the decision was a proposal by the Semesterticket Committee, which consists of mostly students.

If you have any questions, suggestions or criticism, please contact the student representatives in the StuRa of your university.
