Information event for refugee and international students and prospective students from Ukraine

On 8 June 2022, we will host an online event to answer the questions:

  • What do I have to do before I study?
  • Where can I take a German language course?
  • What can I study where in Leipzig?
  • What documents do I need to apply?
  • How can I finance my studies?
  • What residence options do I have?

The online event is organised by the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (HTWK), the Universität Leipzig and the Studentenwerk Leipzig.

Information event for students affected by the war in Ukraine who are already studying in Leipzig

In this online event on 15 June 2022, advisors from the Stabsstelle Internationales/Universität Leipzig and the Social Counselling/Studentenwerk Leipzig will provide information on questions relating to:

  • When and how is it possible to change from residence for study purposes to other residence titles?
  • What options are there for financing my studies if my family/friends/relatives from Ukraine can no longer support me?
  • Is there any one-off financial aid that I can access?
  • Can I take a semester off or reduce my studies during this difficult time?

After the lecture on these topics, there will be time for questions and there will be space to tell us about your needs. This way we can find out how we as institutions can provide additional support to students from Ukraine.

When: Wednesday, 15 June 2022, from 4.00 to 5.30 p.m.
The online event will be held in German.

Students of the Universität Leipzig from Ukraine will receive an invitation to the event via AlmaWeb. Students from other universities can register here and will be sent the link to the online room.
