Preparatory German Course for Refugees at the University of Leipzig

Refugees who are interested in studying at the university of Leipzig can participate in a preparatory German course. This offer is free of charge.
The deadline for applications has been elongated till 3 February.

The International Center (Akademisches Auslandsamt) of the University of Leipzig will again offer German courses for refugees who want to start studying at the University of Leipzig from April 2020. The language courses are free of charge and will last six to nine months. Participants can reach the language level German C1 according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages and conclude with the German Language Test for University Admission (DSH). An entrance test takes place in March. Application is possible until 3 February. 

Requirements for participation:

  • German language skills at level B1
  • A direct university entrance qualification (university entrance qualification or first degree)
  • Statement of the wish to study at the University of Leipzig

You can find detailed information on how to apply on the website of Leipzig University or in the flyer in German or English. If you are interested in taking part you should come by for a consultation during the open office hours of the International Center before applying with your diplomas. There tyou can also get a "Beratungsschein" (consultation certificate) to be released from the application costs.
