Environmentally friendly reusable tableware from our partner Relevo is available in our Mensas and Cafeterias for taking away food and hot drinks. The reusable tableware can be borrowed free of charge.
The deposit-free reusable containers can be borrowed and returned at the aforementioned establishments. With one exception, all meals, salads, soups, bowls, desserts and hot drinks can be taken away in reusable tableware. Only smoothies will continue to be served in disposable cups.
It’s that simple
- Registration: Download the Relevo app from Google Play, the App Store or the website app.relevo.de and register for free. Registration is necessary because this is the only way the system can recognise that you are participating in the scheme and which reusable containers you have borrowed. Only the personal data that is absolutely necessary for using the reusable system is collected. You can find further information on data protection on the Relevo website. The Studentenwerk Leipzig itself does not collect any personal data. Nor do we have access to the data processed during the booking process in the app.
- Ordering: Download the app & have your food or drinks served in Relevo reusable tableware on site.
- Borrow: Scan the QR code on the tableware & show the scan confirmation on your smartphone.
- Enjoy: Enjoy food and drinks from the Mensa with a clear conscience – wherever you like.
- Return: Return the tableware to any Relevo partner* within 14 days. The return is confirmed by scanning the QR codes provided on the posters.

Costs
There are no costs for users of the reusable system, provided they return the tableware within 14 days. During this period, they will receive several reminders to return the items via the app and by email. After this period, Relevo will charge a climate fee of €10 for a bowl and €5 for a cup if they are not returned on time. If the items are not returned, they are deemed to have been purchased. This is intended to enable a continuous cycle: after all, the bowls and cups should not be left to pile up at home, as this means they will be missing from the serving counters in the Mensa or Cafeteria.
Important information about registration
Our guests who wish to use the takeaway service at participating establishments should download the Relevo app in good time and register within it.
If our guests do not wish to participate in the reusable system, they have the option of transferring the food from their plate into their own reusable containers after collection and taking it away. Filling containers brought from home by our staff is subject to strict hygiene regulations, which we are unfortunately unable to meet.
