With the camera through Kenya: New photo exhibition invites you to marvel

Katia Kress, a Master’s student of African Studies, captured the beauty of Kenya with her camera. During an internship at a local NGO, she used her third semester to photographically explore the landscapes, people and culture of the East African country.

The exhibition presents impressive images from the Maasai Mara to Lake Victoria and Diani. In the two thematic areas of land and water, the pictures not only show the impressive natural surroundings, but also personal encounters – an invitation to discover Kenya from Katia’s very own perspective.

The photos are now on display in the corridors on the first and second floors of Studentenwerk Leipzig (Goethestraße 6) – until the end of December 2025.

Fancy your own photo exhibition?

Students who would like to present their photographs in an exhibition can apply to Studentenwerk Leipzig. The theme can be freely chosen. 24 frames of 59.4 x 84 cm can be used. The exhibition spaces are located in the corridors on the first and second floors of Goethestraße 6, and the photographs are usually shown for two months.

The exhibitions are funded by the Studentenwerk Leipzig’s Cultural Funding.

It is important that the student photographers are enrolled at one of the universities in the Studentenwerk Leipzig’s area of responsibility during the exhibition period.
