RaumTeiler is a passion project run by Studentenwerk Leipzig that supports students in the face of an increasing housing shortage. Every year, more than 6,000 first-year students are looking for affordable accommodation at the same time. As our Student Halls of Residence are heavily utilised, RaumTeiler offers a way of providing support.
We would like to make free housing in private households in Leipzig available to students. Do you have a room that is available from October – temporarily or long-term? By offering students a temporary home, you can make it easier for them to start studying and living in Leipzig. Whether through a favourable rent or in exchange for support in everyday life, such as shopping, childcare or household tasks – every room counts.
Advantages for Students:
Advantages for Housing Providers:
RaumTeiler is aimed at all Leipzig residents who not only want to help, but also appreciate the exchange with young, ambitious people. Together, we can ensure that Leipzig remains a place where students are welcome and can flourish.
Studentenwerk Leipzig acts as an intermediary between households providing accommodation and students looking for accommodation. The tenancy agreement is concluded directly between the two parties.
The project will initially run until the end of 2026. Join in and support young people on their way to a successful future!
„Leipzig is a magnet for students from Germany and all over the world. In order to maintain this attractiveness, we need innovative approaches, even in times of scarce living space. That’s why I was delighted to take on the patronage of the RaumTeiler project run by Studentenwerk Leipzig.
This pioneering project contributes to strengthening the common good in our city by providing students with unused living space in private households in Leipzig on fair terms. In a city characterised by diversity and social responsibility, RaumTeiler offers a solution to the often difficult search for accommodation for students, especially at the start of the semester.
RaumTeiler thus promotes the integration of young people in our city and the exchange between different generations. With this project, we as an urban society can take joint responsibility and meet current social challenges.
I would like to extend a warm invitation to all Leipzig residents: Become a part of this important project and get involved for an attractive university location and for a city worth living in, in which togetherness is at the centre.”
