You can retrieve your Deutschland Semester Ticket for the winter semester 2026/27 from different dates, depending on your university. The ticket from the summer semester 2026 will not be extended automatically. You need to retrieve your ticket again for each semester in the LeipzigMOVE app or reactivate your chip card.
Overview of the retrieval dates:
- Students at HMT and HHL: from 20 August 2026
- Students at Leipzig University, HTWK, HGB, DHSN, and iba Leipzig: from 19 September 2026
Alternatively, you can get the ticket as a chip card at an LVB service centre. You will need your ID, student ID, and certificate of enrolment. Existing chip cards will also not be activated automatically for the new semester: You will need to visit an LVB service centre in person again to renew your ticket. Be sure to bring your existing chip card with you.
