Are you currently receiving BAföG and want to continue your funding from autumn 2026? Then it’s best to submit your continuation application now—even if the new funding period only starts in September/October.
Why apply early?
From July onward, the Department for Grants receives a particularly high number of applications. This main application period lasts until October and regularly leads to a heavy workload – and therefore to longer processing times. Those who submit their application early have a better chance of faster processing and uninterrupted BAföG payments.
