Until the end of May 2026, the new photography exhibition “The Wonderful World of the Organ” will showcase works by Wataru Ono, a graduate of the study programme in German as a Foreign and Second Language at the University of Leipzig. Ever since his first extended stay in Germany, he has been fascinated by organs; he plays the instrument himself and travels throughout Europe in search of the most beautiful ones.
The exhibition showcases impressive organs from Germany, the Netherlands and Poland, and even an instrument from Japan, Wataru Ono’s homeland. His photographs invite visitors to discover the beauty of the organs.
You can view the exhibition until the end of May 2026 in the corridors on the first and second floors of the Studentenwerk Leipzig (Goethestraße 6).
You want to organise an own photo exhibition?
Students who would like to display their photographs in an exhibition are welcome to apply to the Studentenwerk Leipzig. The theme of the exhibition can be freely selected by the student. 24 frames sized 59.4 x 84 cm each can be shown in the exhibition spaces in the hallways of the 1st and 2nd floor at Goethestraße 6. The exhibitions are usually shown for two months.
The exhibitions are financed by Studentenwerk Leipzig’s Cultural Funding.
The student photographers must be enrolled in one of the Leipzig Universities/Academies, which are associated with the Studentenwerk Leipzig, for the whole course of the exhibition.
